Internship?

A couple days ago I was kind of offered an internship at the B newspaper (to work with photography). I'm flattered and would like the experience except that I'm really busy right now with school and softball.

Maybe another time. :)

One of those days.

It's been one of those days where things just seem to fall apart. It started off by only getting 4 hours of sleep this morning. Then it proceeded to getting an unwanted grade on a quiz from last week.

School is just really frustrating right now, and I seriously need to get away. And I can't. I have so much work that I can't afford to just skip a weekend.

Ugh.

Yankees headed to ALCS!

The Yankees swept the Minnesota Twins tonight and are headed to the ALCS!!!! <3

Horoscope of the day.

"Your ability to handle work comes and goes in pieces today -- and you need to make sure that you're focused on the good times! You are sure to be low now and then, but you can use that time to regroup."

Interesting.

Feeling like 'blah'.

Tonight's one of those nights where I feel like doing absolutely nothing. I know I have work to do, but I'm feeling like blah. My head kind of hurts, and I'm tired. I swear, I better not be getting sick!

I seriously wish I could freeze time. Wouldn't that make life so much easier? Yes, yes it would.

Whoever invents that, give me a call.

Eddie Cibrian.

Eddie Cibrian = sexy.

Plain and simple.

I watched CSI: Miami tonight because Eddie Cibrian has joined the cast (WHO I LOVE!), and tonight's episode looked amazing. It dealt with Eddie's character being taken hostage, and oh boy, was he a sexy hostage or what!? Of course it helped that he took his shirt off when another hostage was shot and of course he decided to undress and use his own shirt (fine for me though!).

Ugh, I can't afford to watch another show, but I like Eddie Cibrian! Grr, why does he have to be so darn dreamy!?

I got James Patterson's autograph.

On Saturday, my sister and I went to the National Book Festival in DC; it was so much fun! I waited in a very long line to get James Patterson's autograph, but it was well worth it! He also spoke in the Mysteries and Thrillers tent afterwards, and I have to say he's a pretty funny guy.

Overall, great day! :)

Yankees clinch AL East!

The Yankees clinched the AL East yesterday!

Emmys 2009.

I actually watched the Emmys last night (I wouldn't normally), and I did because of 3 words: Neil Patrick Harris. I thought he did a great job hosting, and I watched because of him.

The show was funny and entertaining; way to go Neil! :)

I live in the state of 'single'.

First off, being single stinks. I don't care what people say; no one likes being single! Being single is kind of depressing, especially when all your friends have boyfriends who they talk about constantly. My mom always said you could get a boyfriend if you really wanted one; some guys will date anyone. I kindly said, "No thanks." I think I'll wait for someone who actually likes me. Except now, I'm kind of tired of waiting. How long does a girl have to wait for that special someone? Seriously, can someone tell me? I like to think everything happens for a reason so I'm trying to believe everything will work out in the end. And for those people wondering, my dream guy is: a Red Sox fan, 6'0+, and has great hair. Now let me explain: as some may know, I am a die-hard Yankees fan so why would I want to have a boyfriend who's a Red Sox fan? Well, here's my theory: I've always wanted to be that couple at the Yankees/Red Sox game who the announcers talk about on TV because one is a Yankees fan and one is a Red Sox fan. I also want a tall guy. Yes I'm 5'1 and everyone is considered tall to me, but I also want to be that couple that looks a little awkward because of the height.

I'm not extremely picky, but those are my wants as of now. However, at this point, I'll just take a great guy.

Great song. Great message.

Believe In Me - Demi Lovato

I'm losing myself,
Trying to compete,
With everyone else,
Instead of just being me.
Don't know where to turn,
I've been stuck in this routine.
I need to change my ways,
Instead of always being weak.

I don't wanna be afraid,
I wanna wake up feeling beautiful today,
And know that I'm okay,
Cause everyone's perfect in unusual ways.
You see, I just wanna believe in me.

The mirror can lie,
It doesn't show you what's inside,
And it, it can tell you you're full of life.
It's amazing what you can hide,
Just by putting on a smile.

I don't wanna be afraid,
I wanna wake up feeling beautiful today,
And know that I'm okay,
Cause everyone's perfect in unusual ways.
You see, I just wanna believe in me.

I'm quickly finding out,
I'm not about to break down, not today.
I guess I always knew,
That I had all the strength to make it through.

Not gonna be afraid,
I'm gonna wake up feeling beautiful today,
And know that I'm okay,
Cause everyone's perfect in unusual ways.
You see now, now I believe in me.
Now I
believe in me.

The Listener.

I would just like to say I really enjoyed the premiere of the show The Listener on NBC last night. The show is about a paramedic who is telepathic. I love scifi so I'm excited to see that kind of aspect brought into a drama. I hope this show lasts for a while!

American Idol controversy?

I hate signing onto Yahoo and reading yet ANOTHER story about American Idol. There are too many bloggers out there who need a life, and need to stop complaining about Adam not winning. Why is this such a big deal anyway? Who cares who won? Kris won, and frankly, I think he deserved it just as much as Adam. Kris wasn't as praised as Adam was throughout the whole season, but it's not his fault, and that doesn't make him any less deserving of his Idol win. I think people need to get over the fact Adam didn't win. Adam is extremely talented and would have done extremely well whether he came in 1st or 5th. Kris Allen won, and I'm glad he did!

Cute song.

Apparently Bob Dylan sang the original, and then it was done again by Billy Joel. Most recently, it was done by Kris Allen, and his version is just amazing.

This would be a perfect wedding song, and well frankly, when that time comes for me (which won't be for a long time lol), Kris Allen's version will be high on my list.

To Make You Feel My Love

When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you haven't made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I've known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong

I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue
I'd go crawling down the avenue
There's nothing that I wouldn't do
To make you feel my love

The storms are raging on the rollin' sea
Down on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain't seen nothing like me yet

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel my love

Armored.

I want to see this movie.

Kris Allen's new single.

No Boundaries

Seconds, hours, so many days,
You know what you want,
But how long can you wait?
Every moment lasts forever.
When you feel you've lost your way.
What if my chances were already gone?
I started believing that I could be wrong,
But you give me one good reason,
To fight and never walk away.

Here I am, still holding on.

With every step, you climb another mountain,
Every breath, it's harder to believe,
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes,
To get to that one thing.
Just when you think the road is going nowhere,
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams,
They take you by the hand and show you that you can,
There are no boundaries (2x).

I fought to the limit, to stand on the edge,
What if today is as good as it gets?
Don't know where the future's heading,
But nothing's gonna bring me down.
I've jumped every bridge and I've run every line,
I risked being safe but I always knew why,
I always knew why.

So here I am, still holding on.

With every step, you climb another mountain,
Every breath, it's harder to believe,
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes,
To get to that one thing.
Just when you think the road is going nowhere,
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams,
They take you by the hand and show you that you can.

You can go higher, you can go deeper,
There are no boundaries above and beneath you,
Break every rule 'cause there's nothing between you,
And your dreams.

With every step, you climb another mountain,
Every breath, it's harder to believe.

Yeah, there are no boundaries,
There are no boundaries.

With every step, you climb another mountain,
Every breath, it's harder to believe,
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes,
There are no boundaries (x3).

Everything happens for a reason.

I believe that, I do. However, I need something to happen for me, and if it doesn't...I can't think of a reason why it would be a good thing. Basically, it has to happen.

[More] funny one liners.

  • I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me.
  • Police were called to a daycare where a three-year-old was resisting a rest.

New poem.

Why

You make me feel lost,
When I search for your soul.
You make me feel small,
When I try to console.
You make me feel lonely,
When I try to fit in.
You make me feel afraid,
When I try to win.
You make me feel sad,
When I try to be with you.
You make me feel worried,
With everything you do.
You make me feel everything,
When you're close by.
You make me feel unimportant,
And I want to know
why.

17 Again.

First, I just want to say that...THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!! Okay. I'm calm. Let's start again.

I got advance screening tickets to see 17 Again, which stars my future husband Zac Efron. I may be a little biased because I love him, but I will say that this movie was great! The storyline was interesting, it was funny, and the acting was spot on.

Advice: Go see this movie.

Painful.

I pulled a muscle in my lower back last Saturday during softball, and let me tell you: it's a painful thing. It's getting better though, but it still hurts. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so hopefully I'll get something strong to take for it.

New poem.

Not Mine

Your smile, your jokes
It’s everything about you.
The way you act,
How you carry yourself,
Is how you got my attention.
The way you look at me,
Or laugh at my jokes,
Makes me smile,
When you’re not looking anymore.
But reality hits like a slap in the face,
When you and her start talking.
And that’s when I realize,
I’ve been wishing for the impossible,
For something that won’t happen,

Because you’re hers, not mine.

Exciting.

Well I just got some exciting news! The B paper, where I submit photos every week for their weekly contest, is featuring B readers for every day in April since it's their anniversary of becoming a publication...and I was asked to be featured for one of the days! It's not a big deal or anything, but it's kind of exciting - not gonna lie ;)

New favorite song.

"Underwater" by Ballas Hough Band

When your sky is falling down,
And your green is turning brown,
And you can't go any longer.
When your friends are all away,
And you lose track of the days,
And you're not getting any stronger.

I remember, when you held me underwater.
I can't help it, but it's something I don't wanna be apart of.

But my eyes cry gently, and I can't hide,
You make me feel so lost,
So lost inside.
And you don't get it, how hard I've tried,

You make me feel so lost,
So lost inside.

Well, that's how I'm feeling,
Every midnight, every morning,
And lately it's been starting to really get old.
Oh, I miss you but believe me I won't be calling,
After your last performance,
It's really getting old.

I remember how you held me underwater.
Feeling helpless, and it's something I don't wanna be a part of.

But my eyes cry gently and I can't hide,
You make me feel so lost,
So lost inside.
And you don't get it, how hard I've tried,
You make me feel so lost,
So lost inside.

Why do I always feel alone,
When you're standing here by my side?
Why does it never feel like home?
Well when I look in your eyes,
It's no surprise that this heart is never healing.
I know I'll be fine.
Said I know I'll be fine, fine, fine.

I remember how you held me underwater.
Feeling helpless, and it's something I don't wanna be a part of.

But these eyes cry gently and I can't hide,
You make me feel so lost,
So lost inside.

And you don't get it, how hard I've tried,
You make me feel so lost,
So lost inside.

Primetime in No Time.

Frank Nicotero makes my world go round. Seriously. He's the host of a daily show called Primetime in No Time where he comments on TV shows from the previous night. He's hilarious; you need to watch this show!

Northern Lights.

Okay, I'm a sucker for a lifetime movie. I watched Northern Lights tonight, and even though it wasn't good -- it wasn't bad either; it was actually...cute! I'll admit, I may be a little biased since the lead was Eddie Cibrian, and I've been a fan of his for a long time. The storyline was half-way decent, and though the acting wasn't all that great (I mean Eddie did fabulous of course lol), it still made for a cute movie (and LeAnn Rimes wasn't all that bad either)!

Friday, March 20, 2009

Close - but not.

I got a good laugh today when my Mom started throwing out random names for the TV show Friday Night Lights. First she called it "Saturday Night Lights" and then she proceeded to try again with "Friday Night at the Movies". I'd say she came pretty close - but not. Let's just say I couldn't stop laughing.

The sad thing is she actually watches the show week after week. You'd think she'd know the name by now...

Finally.

For months I've been trying to figure out who Barack Obama sounds like. And yesterday, finally, it hit me. Barack Obama sounds like Dwayne Johnson.

Agree or disagree?

American Idol wildcards.

A top 13 this year huh? That will be interesting! I'm glad Matt and Anoop made it! But I was sad to see Ricky did not! I wish he had picked a better song to show off his voice more; he has such a great voice though! I actually loved his performance anyway haha so I was definitely a little mad he didn't make it! :(

PS: I'm so glad Tatiana didn't make it. Thank you Lord.

Words to follow.

You're looking for something you can't find,
If you give it up, you'll lose your mind.
There's always something in your way.
But what can you say, you're gonna have a good day.

"Good Day" by The Click Five

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Someday (new poem I wrote)

I know that you can’t be here tonight,
Even though it’s wrong, it feels so right.
I know how much you said you love me,
And I hate the way it turned out to be.
I know our emotions aren’t always the same,
But I know I feel the way I did the first day you came.
I know I always worry about what I’ll say,
If I were to see you again someday.

Nothing good can come from it.

What would you do with 5 million dollars?

Think about it people. What would you do with 5 million dollars? I would:

  • give money to family
  • donate to charity
  • buy some Yankees tickets
  • travel to Austraila, Ireland, and Germany
  • go on an Alaskan cruise
  • pay for school

I'm sure I'll come up with more later.

I'm teaching my first real lesson on Thursday, and I'm a little nervous. I was more nervous during the weekend, but now I've realized it won't be too bad. It's not the end of the world if it bombs...right? It's not even that hard of a lesson; it's a read aloud. I hope it goes smoothly though! I can do this. I can do this.

Question of the Day - #5

#5 - If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1 percent of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?

I wouldn't want it to be released to the public. Arthritis isn't as serious as other things so it wouldn't be worth it; I'm not sure anything would be worth people dying over.

Push.

I was able to go to an advance screening of the movie Push tonight and here's what I thought. I won't give away any spoilers about the movie, but I will say that I thought it was really good. Now, incase you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a summary: This scifi action film involves a group of young American expatriates with telekinetic, telepathic, and clairvoyant abilities, hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency referred to as "Division." They try to find the only woman that ever escaped from "Division". She is their only key to finding out how to escape the agency. They must also use their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.

I liked the movie for a couple reasons: 1) It was different. I've never really seen anything with this type of storyline, and I liked that. 2) It dealt with scifi. I love scifi and seeing them have powers was really cool to watch (the effects were great!). 3) Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning did a great job together. At first, you might think they'd make a weird team, and in a way, they kind of did. However, I think that's why it worked so well. Plus, their acting was good too. 4) It was serious/funny in just the right amounts. There was very little humor, but when it happened, it worked. 5) It was just exciting! I was interested the entire time and was never bored. So overall, I thought it was pretty good. Now, if you don't really like scifi, I'm not sure you'll enjoy this film as much, but I still think you would like it; it had a little something for everyone.

Tomorrow has come.

Tomorrow I will interning in a Kindergarten classroom; the day has finally come. I'm a little nervous, not gonna lie. I think I'm the most nervous about actually getting there and finding the school. I have no idea where the school is, and I've never even heard of it until about 4 hours ago. Good luck to me!

Vampire neighbor?

Okay. I am about 58% sure the guy who lives in the apartment above me is a vampire. 'Why do you think he's a vampire?' you might ask. Good question. Well, first off, the guy never sleeps. I go to bed at 1:00am, he's up. I'll wake up around 5:00am (for randomness), I'll still hear noises (and the guy is loud too!). Then I'll wake up around 8:00am, and guess who's up? Yep, good guess. Secondly, he coughs like he's about to throw up every day of every week. Okay, that may not have anything to do with the fact he's a vampire, but it's really annoying! Anyway, even as I write this, I can hear him making noise. Like I said: never sleeps. So I've come to my conclusion: definitely a vampire.

Question of the Day - #4

#4 - If you could spend one year in perfect happiness but afterward would remember nothing of the experience, would you do so? If not, why not?

I probably wouldn't do it. I don't think that my life is that bad right now anyway, and everything would be great if I were to do that, but not being able to remember any of it after is not really worth it in the end. I would want things to continue in perfect happiness, and I know after a year it would be difficult to have to give that up so why even do it in the first place. Life is full of craziness, but we learn to live with it, and sometimes that's what can make life fun.

My top 10 favorite "singing" songs

Don't you have those favorite songs that you just love to sing to? If one of them comes on the radio while you're driving, I'm sure you turn it up and belt it out like you're auditioning for American Idol (you can admit you sing in the car; we all do it!).

Well, here are my [current] top 10 favorite songs to sing to:

1. Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
2. 15 Minutes of Shame - Kristy Lee Cook
3. One Step at a Time - Jordin Sparks
4. Someday We'll Know - Mandy Moore and Johnathan Foreman
5. I Thought I Lost You - Miley Cyrus and John Travolta
6. No More Protecting My Heart - Jamie O'Neal
7. Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis
8. Candles - Hey Monday
9. Someone Else's Life - Jo Dee Messina
10. 7 Things - Miley Cyrus

(I didn't plan the fact that the first 3 songs are by ex-American Idol contestants, which 2 out of the 3 won on their season)

Now, don't get me wrong, I love other songs and this list could change from day to day, but as of right now...these are the songs that I love to sing to (even though some may be older songs).

Question of the Day - #3

#3 - If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them yet?

I don't think there's really anything important I haven't told anyone yet; I tell my family I love them all the time. My friends know how I feel about them too, so it's not like I'm keeping secrets. I might possibly want to tell someone off haha. There are a couple people who annoy me, so maybe I would want to tell them how annoying they are. The reason for not telling them is because even though I'm honest, I don't like hurting people's feelings. As much as I would love to bring them down a peg, it wouldn't be my style to come out and say rude things.

Spring semester begins.

Here we go again. The spring semester offically started today. I think it's going to be a good semester. I say that now, only after having one class lol. Ask me again in March, and I might have a different opinion haha.

My first...nightmare??

Okay, so a couple of nights ago I guess I experienced my first "nightmare".

Here it is:

In my dream, I lived across the street from some juvenile delinquent school so the kids were crazy and criminals apparently lol...anyway, we were out walking and when we got home, I wanted to take a picture of raindrops...well, we saw 2 kids getting in a fight so my Mom ordered us inside but before we could shut the door, a kid in a blue t-shirt comes running through and goes up the stairs (one of the kids in the fight) and the other kid comes running in after. Before they could do anything to each other, my Mom grabs them both and yells "NO! NO! NO! Get out of my house!" haha but the one boy brings out a scalpel and cuts the arm of the other kid (not deep or anything) so they're walking down the stairs and I'm standing by the doorway and all of a sudden the kid with the scalpel stabs me in my side.

And thats when I woke up cause I really did like flinch and reach for my side!! It was like I was really stabbed!! Then I was like breathing heavy after that, not a lot but it just something crazy to experience. And that's my first "nightmare".

I'm finally 21!!!

It's official; I turned 21 yesterday, January 9th. It was kind of exciting, not gonna lie. I'm old enough to buy alcohol, which I tested when I went out to dinner last night. We went out to Applebees, and just to warn anyone who wants to have a 21st birthday there, they do sing to you! Yep, I learned that the hard way. My waitress announced loudly to the entire restaurant that it was my 21st birthday and had everyone sing; can you say embarrassing!?...I can! It was fun though (and I definitely won't forget it); I ordered a piƱa colada, which was very good. Overall, I had a great birthday!

Question of the Day - #2

#2 - Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?

I do believe in ghosts and evil spirits. I love scifi and the supernatural, and I think ghosts and those such things can and do exist. I've never seen one myself or anything, but I think people have when they claim they do. I think it would be kind of creepy to see a ghost or something but also interesting at the same time lol. And to answer the second part of the question: heck no! I'm such a scaredy-cat; there's no way I'd spent a night alone in a supposedly haunted house. You probably couldn't pay me enough to do it either. I wouldn't even go with someone else so to do it by myself, what are you, nuts!?
